Weekend minipost: moron of the year

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Willin Ta'bemovin, who is in Aliastra, NPC corp, so can't be wardecced. Yet he managed to lose 28 freighters in highsec. I'm completely unable to comprehend his motives, goals or even his method. He wasn't ganked once (unless people suicide gank in Lokis now). He doesn't have a single kill so there can't be kill rights on him. Always different people kill him, so he isn't feeding for his main. It just doesn't compute.

Here is a strong contender for the title!

Here is an ordinary one with bling.

He just gets killrights off an alt with no api feed

easy

You dont need to kill something to get a killright

just attempt it

You get a kill right even if your ship isn't destroyed. I'm guessing this is a kill right, though usually they have some double wrapped item in their cargo.

There are all empty though....so something is definitely up.

Killright+insurance scam? His kills don't show up because they're against an alt who sells the killright. Killright plus insurance payout is set less than insurance cost plus cost of freighter. Set huge autopilot route through hi-sec.Go afk. Repeat. That's my guess anyways.

The tengu was most likely in the middle of a refit when he died notice the extra subs in the cargo hold. It's how most null plext runners work... But that freighter he must go suspect to get killed so many time or he accepts the duel requests from people.

"Besides pointless bling, please note that the subsystem and the cloak don't match."

I don't understand that comment:

[Tengu, Narciso Bello's Tengu]
...
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
...
Tengu Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration

Isn't that the correct subsystem for covert cloak?

@orson brawl

Ah, I think i recognise his name now, I have seen him around the trade hubs with the kill right being available to activate, he just sits on gates with the kill right ready...when you check it the kill right is available for 1bn.

He usually has another char with him in an indy with a kill right for 400m or so.

This man is baiting for insurance money + selling his own kill right. Which is a good way to make money and not a stupid thing to do...

But who the hell pays so much for a kill right?

The actual morons pay for it. The guy you've selected as moron of the year will actually be making loads just by shooting at his own alt, selling the killright for like 1-2b, then sitting idle all night. Eventually someone comes along and is either desperate for a freighter kill or can't read zeros and pays him more than the cost of the freighter to kill his freighter.

Yeah its a scam, the killright might not actually be very high. All they have to do is have a killright + insurance to make is profitable.

Platinum insurance pays out 1.526b for a Charon, a Charon costs ~!.3b in Jita, you only need to get 229m for the kill right to break even.

People who click before reading to get a free target to shoot at in the hope of finding a freighter full of stuff.

So, the "moron" has collected isk from one of the people who have shot at him thinking they might get a freighter full of goodies, hopefully more than they paid out for the killright.
