December losses of the minions of Evil

Like last month, I received the killboard loss data for all CFC and Christmas spirit wasn't kind to those who live on the tears of others. As always, the kills are de-whored, so if you did 1% damage of a 100B titan, you get 1B kills and not 100B.

48549 API verified losses are distributed among the minions of Evil:
0 - Blohm and Voss Shipyards Alliance
217 - Circle-Of-Two
35 - Executive Outcomes
248 - Fatal Ascension
225 - Fidelas Constans
68 - Forged of Fire
111 - Get Off My Lawn
958 - Goonswarm Federation
230 - Greater Western Co-Prosperity Sphere
37 - I Whip My Slaves Back and Forth
1 - Initiative Associates
5 - Initiative Mercenaries
103 - RAZOR Alliance
153 - RvB - BLUE Republic
179 - RvB - RED Federation
169 - SpaceMonkey's Alliance
123 - Tactical Narcotics Team
92 - The Initiative.
231 - The Bastion
3.19T ISK missing from their hangars in December. Let's see who killed them:
As usual, on top of the kills stand the "worthless NPC trash". For long the Goon propaganda could downplay the pirates, despite suffering their largest losses from them. Since these loss reports, it doesn't work anymore. Mordus Angels (166B), Black Legion (192B), Triumvirate (226B) and Sorry We're In Your Space Eh (72B) brought death and destruction to the minions of Evil. As you probably know, I donate 6B/week (25-26B/month) to MoA because they are in a small NPC pocket deep in CFC space. You can (and should) support them too. For now, feast on their 500M+ contribution kills: 599M, 1030M, 1494M, 535M, 554M, 522M, 1660M, 662M, 1041M, 1339M, 2519M, 538M, 565M, 603M, 763M, 542M, 2849M, 589M, 1018M, 820M, 503M, 533M, 855M, 515M, 644M, 577M, 548M, 583M, 2205M, 1040M, 1494M, 520M, 1101M, 3527M, 551M, 1021M, 616M, 719M, 851M, 887M, 586M, 991M, 594M, 989M, 508M, 1131M, 1166M, 556M, 545M, 552M, 544M, 604M, 603M, 2189M, 574M, 1355M, 511M, 574M, 1214M, 949M, 559M, 1343M, 635M, 2887M, 851M, 957M, 509M, 1048M, 536M, 937M, 524M, 541M, 568M, 510M, 513M, 1100M, 1647M, 605M, 702M, 586M, 819M, 828M, 669M, 557M, 540M, 540M, 552M, 608M, 615M, 748M, 3451M, 1094M, 533M, 1930M, 634M, 932M, 1676M, 681M, 861M, 1024M, 543M, 830M, 889M, 897M, 610M, 2197M, 1103M, 2023M, 1484M, 11450M, 1913M, 895M, 828M, 1626M, 776M, 641M, 515M, 1785M, 585M, 737M, 2924M, 617M, 1052M, 643M, 505M, 919M, 2868M, 2967M, 2860M, 3448M, 3199M, 2825M, 1467M, 572M, 542M, 1771M, 2430M, 7003M, 1239M, 2234M, 1416M, 1566M, 688M, 900M, 579M, 3128M, 588M, 1792M, 921M, 1567M, 1916M, 539M, 3370M, 1545M, 598M, 723M, 840M, 677M, 536M, 918M, 545M, 2978M, 1319M, 11729M, 1747M, 1972M, 10289M, 1882M, 1346M, 520M, 539M, 779M, 510M, 533M, 1259M, 996M, 526M, 1826M, 3763M, 1076M, 604M, 528M, 612M, 696M, 1979M, 934M, 516M, 2964M, 1899M, 534M, 545M, 551M, 527M, 524M, 525M, 2036M, 1858M, 1565M, 1641M, 2199M, 632M, 517M, 501M, 519M, 3340M, 1373M, 749M, 737M, 866M, 625M, 771M, 1038M.

After CFC shown some resistance, N3 withdrawn from Fountain and focused on upkeep their renting empire. Anyway, they still did 357B damage: 1774M, 787M, 1490M, 961M, 721M, 588M, 771M, 881M, 548M, 760M, 553M, 697M, 765M, 987M, 514M, 510M, 534M, 578M, 581M, 507M, 503M, 702M, 580M, 2529M, 2531M, 2021M, 2298M, 3216M, 736M, 751M, 723M, 2405M, 889M, 1980M, 669M, 875M, 562M, 579M, 781M, 556M, 1615M, 1789M, 552M, 503M, 503M, 524M, 500M, 776M, 1088M, 3450M, 621M, 645M, 727M, 628M, 624M, 533M, 574M, 751M, 824M, 559M, 752M, 3953M, 1081M, 1180M, 814M, 521M, 641M, 2140M, 504M, 758M, 1762M, 519M, 938M, 649M, 604M, 675M, 1060M, 580M, 580M, 516M, 517M, 575M, 695M, 566M, 537M, 522M, 1581M, 1656M, 849M, 913M, 693M.

RvB is still doing their thing, and after the titan of last month, CFC scaled back on blue-killing: 1932M, 880M, 1865M, 22126M, 604M, 2287M, 587M, 710M, 1029M, 6379M, 1388M, 1602M, 1637M, 1172M, 1908M, 580M, 905M, 665M, 2396M, 1692M, 668M, 526M, 687M, 665M, 1364M, 635M, 792M, 534M, 1229M, 899M, 632M, 669M, 563M, 750M, 818M, 1812M, 655M, 1094M, 745M, 555M, 1334M, 523M, 2503M, 834M, 756M, 1360M, 2274M, 1655M, 690M, 562M, 634M, 582M, 1075M, 743M, 585M, 880M, 1388M, 865M, 759M, 642M, 504M, 5322M, 936M, 520M, 704M, 622M, 3747M, 1849M.

I'm still wasting my money on the wardec fees of Marmite Collective against all CFC members in highsec, which is totally irrelevantTM (168B) against nullsec alliances: 802M, 753M, 611M, 1082M, 957M, 8949M, 8890M, 687M, 611M, 677M, 652M, 501M, 6925M, 540M, 947M, 7003M, 643M, 814M, 7011M, 7080M, 669M, 537M, 706M, 730M, 539M, 581M, 584M, 668M, 742M, 8250M, 946M, 3829M, 1085M, 659M, 754M, 1093M, 10801M, 730M, 2429M, 539M, 576M, 960M, 1531M, 543M, 866M, 963M, 4304M, 8014M, 589M, 613M, 754M, 540M, 505M.

HERO (95B), PL block (33B), xxDeath (75B) and Proviblock (28B) had little contact with the minions of Evil: 532M, 513M, 539M, 579M, 617M, 606M, 1448M, 624M, 803M, 562M, 716M, 679M, 1893M, 535M, 1237M, 667M, 808M, 851M, 879M, 806M, 578M, 679M, 521M, 605M, 803M, 613M, 628M, 934M, 1075M, 653M, 1559M, 861M, 617M, 903M, 971M, 711M, 531M, 1790M, 1520M, 561M, 916M, 1329M, 502M, 524M, 504M, 771M, 1852M, 561M, 531M, 1017M, 1523M, 533M, 964M, 2222M, 1705M, 888M, 617M, 592M, 1018M, 882M, 1510M, 902M, 790M, 1171M, 685M, 1811M, 583M, 762M

Let's see the killer fleet sizes and lost ship costs. Both pies are ISK values. We can see that small gangs inflict huge damage to CFC:

Finally, let's see where they died:
519 - Highsec
455 - Foreign Null
384 - Lowsec
1825 - CFC space:
334 - Fountain
318 - Vale Of The Silent
306 - Deklein
176 - Branch
173 - Tribute
136 - Venal
117 - Pure Blind
90 - Fade
82 - Syndicate
57 - Tenal
36 - Cloud Ring
As you can see they still die at home or while shopping in highsec or crossing lowsec. Their offensive activity is minimal.

Later this week I'll publish the first annual report of the GRR project!

So what is the impact of this project on the CFC's overall performance?

Is it rendering us unable to defend our own ground?

Gevlon said...

This is very primitive trolling that claims that anything short of total eviction of CFC has no effect, while it's obvious that every piece of damage weakens the CFC.

It's like saying "B-R was nothing because PL and NC. are still here"

Jim L said...

How is it "obvious" that every bit of damage weakens the CFC? Especially considering they damage themselves (through RvB, AWOX, hi-sec harassment, etc.).

You are making the mistake of assuming that the goal of the CFC is to pile up isk so that every time you get them to spend isk (by you destroying something), they are hurt. That isn't their goal. Their goal is to play a game by interacting with other people (destroying other people's stuff and having other people destroy their stuff). You are just paying people to interact with them. You are paying people to provide content to satisfy their goal of playing the game.

So far you have not shown one piece of evidence that your jihad is having any negative effect on them at all. However you have shown ample evidence that you are providing them with lots of content.

Show declining membership in the CFC. Show their login numbers dropping. Link to posts of their leadership worrying about isk or contemplating reducing the SRP program. Show some sort of metric where you are actually having an affect on them.

@Jim L: so you claim that infinite amount of damage could be handled by CFC? They could lose a B-R every day?

If not, than there is a limit that they can replace and if they lose more, they simply run out of ships.

In this - obvious - case, every piece of damage is pushing them toward that limit.

So...

Everywhere I look I see goons dying and unable to rat. The suffering is unbearable. Yet our masters still press us to fight in their blob.

We can't this much longer! The evil goonswarm is doomed!

- really, is this what you are expecting?

No. What I'm expecting from Goons is: "EVE isn't so much fun anymore. I go play WoT instead"

@Gevlon
"so you claim that infinite amount of damage could be handled by CFC? They could lose a B-R every day?"
The thing is, they aren't losing B-R every day. I'm sure there is a limit to how much the CFC could lose, but you haven't reached close to that yet.

The thing is, all the time they are losing less than their income, then yes, they could lose an infinite amount of isk at that rate. If you make 100b/month and spend 80b/month, you can afford to do that for eternity. When you factor in how many people the CFC losses are spread over and their personal income, the group income supporting their SRP, and things like insurance which reduce what those effective losses actually are (a 100m ship loss isn't effectively 100m), then you realise that they can probably earn enough to continue indefinitely.

"No. What I'm expecting from Goons is: "EVE isn't so much fun anymore. I go play WoT instead""
The problem is, that like Jim L pointed out, what they want is for fight other players. That's what they find fun. You're paying other players to fight the goons, so you are providing them with that fun. Unless you were able to pay a group to permanently hellcamp them so they couldn't play, they are unlikely to get bored. Surely you can understand that they simply have different objectives to you, and so don't get bored by losing a certain isk value?

It's a shame, because with this much dedication you probably could do significant damage to the CFC if you applied yourself in a way which really stopped them having fun.

Amyclas Amatin said...

I did 12 hour structure grind shifts for several weeks when NC. invaded fountain, it wasn't about the inherent fun in cycling weapons for endless hours - it was about ruining someone else's fun.

Gevlon said...

No, they play to dominate other players. And maybe to fool around. So when they explode a freighter, they have fun. When their frigates explode, they have fun. When their freighter explodes, they don't.

That is exactly what the goal of CFC is. To gain as much isk as possible and use it to control as much space as possible.

Now, the goal of the PILOTS in CFC may be to kill stuff "for fun" but that's not the goal of CFC. If you bleed CFC long enough, it's goals and the goals of it's pilots will diverge sufficiently to cause collapse.

So when they explode a freighter, they have fun. When their frigates explode, they have fun. When their freighter explodes, they don't.
When someone blows up our freighters, the owner may not have fun but the rest of us do. Most of our losses aren't freighters either. Losing a titan or a capital is usually fun in itself, since the fight is the fun part.

That is exactly what the goal of CFC is. To gain as much isk as possible and use it to control as much space as possible.
Apparently you know very little about the CFC. Making ISK is just a means to an end. Their true goals are to have fun playing and troll people.

If you bleed CFC long enough, it's goals and the goals of it's pilots will diverge sufficiently to cause collapse.
No, if you bleed the CFC to the point that they can no longer support themselves (which will take a hell of a lot more than is currently being done) then they'll simply find better processes to follow to support themselves and stem the bleeding. They are simply too big and too well established to bring down using financial attrition. Consider how long this project has been running, and the goons aren't just surviving it, they are stronger than they were to begin with.

Yet the assumtion is that these losses are truly bleeding the CFC. My assertion is that they are the equivalent of daily bruises and papercuts.
Annoying and sometimes a bit painful, but in no way bad enough to actually change a playstyle.

"This is very primitive trolling that claims that anything short of total eviction of CFC has no effect, while it's obvious that every piece of damage weakens the CFC."

How is it obvious? Where are the graphs showing that the CFC, directly as a result of taking those pieces of damage, is losing its ability to defend themselves?

"It's like saying "B-R was nothing because PL and NC. are still here""

B-R was a loss only partially due to the ISK lost - a lot of time was lost due to the manufacturing of a Titan requiring time and stable sov.

It's worth noting that B-R in particular was a sudden blow - unlike "bleeding" damage the CFC is perfectly used to. They've been losing ships (expensive ones, too) - in dumb ways since they were even formed.

Also, the CFC may have many goals, but hoarding money is certainly not one of them (the ISK is actually spent, not sitting in chests). Neither is controlling more space than they can handle - this is the domain of other alliances.

When fighting the CFC, the worst thing one can do is feed them with a reason to attack someone.

"No. What I'm expecting from Goons is: "EVE isn't so much fun anymore. I go play WoT instead""

Then show that goons are losing numbers from up the command chain, show that morale is dropping, that fewer and fewer are turning up or logging in, otherwise it is no different than any other guy in Eve who loses 3-4 ships a day being bad at pvp and still plays because he enjoys it

"So we can conclude that nullsec ratting is dominated by botters and bot-like nolifers."

This conclusion may be true, but it is not supported by your data. All that can be said is that the nullsec ratters do not follow the same weekday/weekend pattern of activity found among highsec ratters.
