Prizes and legendary staff

From last week, we had lot of improvement. Nefarian is down, so the normal 4.0-4.1 content is completed.

We did not do rated BGs, as we focused on Nef, but will do in the weekend. The new guild challenges will lure lot of guilds to rated BG. Juicy targets. Are you not entertained? prize is still 5000/G person, and a team is pretty close to it.

As I told, I found a toplist where we could get, guildox.com's EU guild achievement list. On Friday we were on #40 position, and #75 on world with 1635 points, as 4.1 made significant changes in achievements. We gained the following ones:
Let's see what more we could get:
  • Battleground and arena achievements: This is the new focus.
  • Glaives: 20000G offered for anyone who gets them on his own (or bring it to the guild), I also organize paid raids to BT. I'm in negotiation with a guild on the server who might sell us them.
  • Thori'dal, Shadowmourne: I found a contractor who is in progress of finishing the blade, has bow and selling them to us.
  • We are legendary: meta for the above ones for 25 points.
  • Dinner Party: on 80% but I won't speed it, feasts are damn expensive to just place them in middle of SW.
  • Better Leveling Through Chemistry: 45%, out of reach as flasks are cheaper than materials, would be insane loss to craft them.
  • Master Crafter: 74% but crafting epics just to DE would be simply insane.
  • We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat: 60%, probably this is the one I could pay for. Fish is useful anyway, I simply pay others for farming them.
  • United nations: The damn thing is still bugged
  • New "do X challenges" achievements: can't be hurried as the challenges are weekly capped.
  • The Daily Grind: it would be insane to pay for them. People will do TB dailies anyway for the resistance trinket.
  • Heroic raid achievements: currently out of reach, we just completed normal content.
Blizzard aired the first preview about the legendary staff. It will be a caster DD item and require the effort of a whole guild. It seems Blizzard have canonized the Shadowmourne path as legendary acquisition way. Our guild have already proved its ability to work together hard ... for proper payment. The goblin way is clear who will be the legendary holder: the highest bidder! So if you want a legendary and able to pay for it, join us! We don't mind if you leave after getting it, so it's a unique opportunity to world top guilds to get ahead of their competitors: one of the caster DDs transfer here, gets the staff and transfer back (while can keep raiding with his alt in his real guild). I'm sure an extra legendary will make a difference at Ragnaros HC. One condition: if there is guild achievement linked to the staff, you must have the guild rep to complete it, before you can finish it. So I'd rather not wait until 4.2 with the transfer.

Hows 1 gold/fish sound to you? Do you want the fish mailing to you?

Could you pay someone to get you United Nations? People with 55 personal reputations at exalted might not generally be the mercenary type, but you never know. Perhaps someone with nearly 55 who just needs some old raid reps that you could hire a few people to run.

1G/fish? Why would anyone do that? fishing takes 15-20 secs, so you get 240-180 fish/hour. With 1G it's 180-240 G/hour. Terrible.

It only worth it if you sell the fish AND get a bit of bonus from me.

I would think as a goblin, if someone offered to farm the fish for you at a rather cheap price, you'd jump at the chance. By the sounds of it you're insisting on paying more. You might as well start giving out free gold to whomever whispers you asking for it.

The problem with paying for fish is that people can arbitrage using the AH. There's no real way to provide evidence that they fished things up themselves.

How do you ensure that the person to buy the legendary is not a total moron? I mean you are basically selling a raid spot for every raid during 4.2. It could become very frustrating if you have a rich, but bad player promised the slot. (Or you could cancel your contract and repay him the gold (at which point you would have waster precious raid time for a m&s)

Wouldn't it make more sense to sell the slot (and the shards/whatever) each raid day - maybe preferring guild members who already own shards (for the achievement?)
So you could also wark around issues where the first in line might not be online on the one or the other raid.

Just a brief note: we don't know yet what is required to get the legendary. In ICC no-one In Paragon had Shadowmourne when they killed Lich King HM, because the grind for it was quite long. If getting the new legendary will require killing end bosses / bosses on HM or something such, it's very unlikely that your guild will be in a position to have it before Ragnaros is killed on HM. This is just speculation of course, entirely dependant on the tuning of the encounters and how long the grind for it will be. But don't expect it will be easy to get in no time.

Stupid people dont get rich. Besides it would be ironic someone who can work out great ammount of gold but no idea about rotations, gemming and alike.

Even if still that would be the case. I dont think any goblin would give a rat butt what would happen with that staff as long as that named goblin got what he wanted in return.

You are willing to pay 20k for one achievement but not for another one where you have to craft more-expensive-than-material flasks? Why?

Gevlon said...

@Dzonatan: because flask prices will elevate above material prices sooner or later. People mass-craft flasks to get the cauldron. When they got it, they stop.

@"staff-moron" commenters: It will be a post.

I'm curious how much gold the new legendary will go for. Any thoughts on a starting point? 100k? 200k?
