LFM tank

We had enough people online, but not enough tanks. So if you want to be a tank, but the tank spots are taken in your guild, unleash your inner bear/prot/frost and come to raid in Undergeared. Imagine that you would be the guy who tanked Arthas in blue gear.

Another note: I'm sad to see that the US version is even worse shape than the EU. However there is hope. There are several players in the ganking project playing from the US. So if you are in US, want to raid in blues and can raid in 19:00 CET time (I guess it's 13:00 in NY, 11:00 in LA) and can spare some $ for and EU account, join us. We constantly grow, having new players every week (and leavers too). So you have time and some $ for an EU account join now! (obviously EU players can join too). Any raider can invite.

Come, let's prove that it's skill, not gear that makes success.

Yeah, I'd love to have the extra time for stuff.

Both for my own guild's raiding and the Undergeared project, but as I said around new years, I'm hitting massive RL issues lately so :)

Based on the tendency for top guilds to get world firsts long before they have a chance to overgear, I'd say the skill>gear side has been proven. Are you trying to prove skill>gear (which would be redundant) or that you are a shining beacon of greatness who everyone should listen to (which would be social)?

Besides, do you really want to recruit people who are only joining because they weren't good enough for their current guild tank spots?

You will not and cannot kill Arthas with blue gear. You might have a gleamer of hope with the buff when it reaches 30%, but otherwise it is just not possible.

I really like the attitude and salute the goal: but have you just calculated how much dps is required to kill the Valyrs in p2? How much dps for killing the adds in transition phases? How much dps on the LK himself to avoir going into enrage? How about the HP and stats required for the tank to survive the shamblings?

it's an interesting prospect, but I don't think that it is wise spending too much real money for virtual game time without possible compensation in real money. Real money buys you food, shelter, what is needed for life. Virtual money is created by blizzard, and while some entertainment is good, too often it is abused.

@Babble: No need to do any calculation. Blizzard makes the content for "everyone", meaning it only matter of time before "LF5M 2 tanks 3 helz ICC10 FULL CLR link achi and 6K GS".

I'm NOT claiming that Arthas is doable NOW. But will be before Cataclysm.

@Klepsacovic: While top guilds don't overgear, they both have previous tier BiS, + they are "no lifers" according to the M&S mythology, so their result do not count.

Have you taken into account that they are able to make the content for "everyone" by making higher levels of gear easier to access? By this I mean, "everyone" can get 232-264 gear fairly easily. Sitting around in non-epic 200 gear when getting 245 is easier than breathing may not qualify you into the "everyone" category.

if you realy want a challenge how about routing your wow connection via...say...south africa...so you have latency in the 400-600 ms range.

then you'll know how the Aussies playing on "Oceanic" servers(which are Oceanic by server time only and located in the west coast USA data centers) feel.

the time difference from CET to LA (PST) is 9 hours, not 8. 6 hours to NY is correct.

Previous tier BiS is overgearing. The first several guilds to kill the Lich King in his introductory form all boosted their mains' gear by using several raids with a mix of mains and alts, and giving all the BiS gear in ICC to the mains in the raid.

Of course Ensidia then went and killed him in 25's with their undergeared alt raid on the first week he was 'accessible' after they got banned for a bug, but the gear progression model has problems especially in limited attempts and only provides a slowing effect to casual guilds, instead of to the hardcore guilds that need to be handicapped for challenge. This is especially apparent when it is so easy to saturate at a given item quality tier. Of course, this problem affects any game that wants endgame raiding activities.

The purpose isn't to prove that Gevlon is good. It's to prove that M&S are bad.

By clearing content with no gear and minimal time investment, the masses will have no tried and true excuses to explain their failures.

@Anti: Gevlon doesn't care how you feel. Go whine on the official forums.

You're trying to prove this to M&S? That seems like a complete waste of time. What can you possibly gain by it? They're not going to change just because you proved it rather than Paragon. If anything you have a worse chance, since they would have more social cred. The people you're trying to prove something to are incapable of having anything proven to them; you should know that already.

Isn't this obvious already to anyone who isn't M&S? What's the point in proving it again.

What might get you more people is doing ICC instead of Ulduar.

Maybe relax the gear requirement, say no more than a 4000 gs to do ICC 25 (or no item higher than 213, which I think is the highest you can get in Naxx). Basically something that everyone would laugh at as far as letting you into an icc25 pug.

The advantage to doing ICC 25 is you do get BIS drops there that people may want to use in their off "undergeared" time.

For me, this is the flaw of the Undergeared project. The purpose of the Undergeared project is to prove casual skill > gear. However, once the majority of people clear ICC10 with the 35% buff, they will no longer care. Because M&S will just say that they can do it (clear in blue gear) but they don't have the inclination.

Contrast this with your blue-geared Ulduar. M&S were not clearing the instance. Guilds were stuck and then claiming that "they need more gear". Because of this, people took notice of the achievement.

So, the only way the Undergeared project will succeed is that when the 35% buff becomes active, the majority of M&S are still failing to kill LK.

Of course, that is assuming that the Undergeared themselves can take down Arthas...

The only reason for not having cleared all of Ulduar (again) is that there are not enough people in the guild who consistently sign on during raid times or else raids would be happening in 25's instead of 10's. The only reason for not doing ICC, now, is Ulduar is already determined as the goal after clearing Naxx and obsidian sanctum in blue gear. Many of the Ulduar encounters are considered more challenging than the first wing of ICC, the main problem is just the number of raiders.
