I'm continuing the series on the top alliances of 2015, here is Pandemic Legion, with the usual de-inflation method: if you did 1% damage of a 100B titan, you get 1B kill, not 100 The data is available for everyone to check my results or compare it with zkillboard. This is a long post of pretty uninteresting data, since PL is green everywhere. In every zone, enemy, corp, timezone. However they lack an "enemy". I mean they killed anything and everything they've met (with a few exceptions, like Shadow Cartel), but they didn't seem to focus on anything. Not even the #1 BRAVE stands out. Forgive me, but despite the 11.6T destroyed and the all-green killboard, they don't seem scary. Sure, if you do stupid, they'll gank you, but it's not like they would go out of their way to hurt you. This also means that I was wrong about their secret cooperation with Goons. They aren't avoiding Goons because of a pact, but because they avoid seriously fighting anyone. The inflation factor of this alliance is 175%. Below you can see which alliances helped it the most by shooting the same target. Please note that damage is capped by own damage, so if the analyzed alliance did 1B damage, X did 2B, Y did 8B, then X get 0.2B help, Y get 0.8B, as their help provided 1B de-inflated damage.

Below you can see the performance of the top corporations against the top enemies in format of B kills / B losses, color coded by ISK ratio of the corp against the enemy. The second line shows how big percentage of the killboard is against/from this enemy. If the activity of the corp against the enemy is less than half of the alliance average, their field is greyed out, showing that the corp didn't pull its weight against that enemy.

Just a point I want to make about Elise Randolph and Grath Telkin, plus what I assume are the other PL Fc's your showing up there with Red kill boards. Those will be a)titan losses and B) early titan/ship losses I think, as it is standard practise it seems to headshot the enemy Fc's first to get them off the field.
I won't bore you at length about this or how those red Kbs by your stats came about, but its important to point out if you reference back to this post in 6 months time saying Elise or Grath are terrible pilots and here is proof: that being an FC will mean your targeted first and thus not around to contribute the future enemy reinforcements while taking higher losses then indiv. fleet pilots even in those situations where your fleets massacre the enemy.
If you intend at some point to reference back to this post to question PL fcs competence, it might help your cause to analysis their personnal kill boards and find out why Grath Telkin, Elise Randolph, et al are red. Was it titan losses? was it command lokis? was it ratting supers and botted hulks?
You are not taking into account Pandemic Horde or Waffles either who regularly fly with PL.

If I was sitting in a lecture on WWII and the speaker mentioned that General Dwight D Esienhower never fired his personal weapon at the enemy I would think it kind of odd.
Even though it is a true statement, the fact that the speaker thought it was important enough to mention would detract from his credibility.
Some people need to understand numbers vs their own biases.

Handle the raw data and interpret, or wait for someone to spoonfeed it for you.
PL FCs are probably to be on that list because they lost some ship or another and are too busy leading to care about kills, hence the red. Which is an understandable red, because one needs to interpret statistics.
Elise and such points to PL green as their personal success, while a rank and file member would be more concerned with their own kb color. Eisenhower may not have fired a shot, but his decisions lead to more deaths than any individual grunt soldier. It all depends on perspective and narrative.

I think his problem is that you seem to imply that K:D ratio has something to do with skill, which it doesn't. They are good figures but they really mean very little out of context.
I'm not "implying". I very clearly state that K:D has a very strong correlation with skill. Sure, it's not 100%, there are outliers, like FCs and celebrities always primaried having worse and lucky guy who shoots a Rifter and finds 60 PLEX-es in the kill. But I would say that if pilot A has better K:D than pilot B, then A is better than B 90% of the cases.

OK, in that case his problem is that you state that a K:D has a very strong correlation with skill. The reality is that it doesn't. If someone a logi to rep him while he shoots down an opponent, he is not more skilled he simply has an advantage. If someone shoots and AFK pilot he is not more skilled he is just the only one currently able to react.
At the same time, K:D ratio is also affected by risk aversion. Someone that refuses to fly expensive ships is much more likely to have a higher K:D ratio, simply by getting on a few moderately expensive kills, even if he loses his ship whenever he is in battle. If you have a ship that costs 2 mil and you keep doing 2% damage on ships worth 500m then getting blown up while your mate blows the target up, your K:D will be 5:1, yet you are incapable of even surviving a one sided battle. On the other hand if a guy in a unique frigate (like an AT ship) is killing hundreds of other people 3 at a time then one day gets popped by a 10 man fleet, his K:D will plummet, but in reality he's a skilled fighter.
There's nothing that categorically proves that K:D has anything to do with skill. I'd certainly argue that someone with too high a K:D (above 80% or so) is likely to simply be more risk averse, fighting only in groups and/or cheap ships.

No, I simply don't believe that you can measure skill from the incredibly limited information given by kill reports. There's a lot of information about the context of the kills missing

That's great, but that doesn't mean he's a more skilled pilot. If both were put into exactly the same ship and situation, the AT ship guy would likely outperform the guy who can only survive when backed by logi. This is why blindly measuring by killboard stats is simply not a good enough metric to determine player skill. I'd much rather have the more competent pilot by my side, the one who knows how to manage his transversal and fights well against the enemy ships, since the situation won't always allow for him to call in his logi support while he presses F1.

Skill obviously does exist, it's the ability to play the game to win, something you claim to go for. Do you not see that by instead playing to simply avoid damage doesn't make you a winner? A pilot that won't use a more powerful ship because they fear loss is useless to anyone looking to win. Sure, they can go after easy targets and will be guaranteed to lose less than they kill, but they don't stand a chance of actually killing anything important. In WoW, it's the people who repeatedly grind heroics, but never take on the end-game raids. They kill more bosses, but they never kill the best ones, and you would class them as morons and slackers.

Being a PvP game, the skilled people win the knowledge they can defeat other people, that when they go up against tall odds they will win. Goons aren't winning EVE, they are just carebears, owning sov really doesn't mean anything. Then again, MoA aren't beating them either since they aren't able to stop goons being carebears. With the WoW analogy, MoA are the guys running into a levelling zone, killing a low level player then running away when a bigger player shows up shouting "haha I'm winning".
I think the problem you have here is that you pick the statistics you count as winning because they fit what you want to believe, not because they are actually good metrics. A player could go out with a fresh character, kill a single ship and their kill ratio would be infinite. That should be enough to show that they are flawed, even if you ignore the gaping holes that logi, tackle and ECM put in killboards.
