SMA gets no help from the Imperium

Unless you live under a rock, you know that SMA came under attack by TISHU and now PH on top of their usual killers, yet received absolutely no help from the rest of the Imperium. The attacks are far beyond "NPC nobodies cutting off the fat" as they usually downplay line members losing their income. Cloud Ring used to have lots of SMA and J4LP (Imperium member/auxiliary/local blue/pet/whatever) Sov. Now I don't see any of them. Hell, even MoA took one for the lols.

This doesn't only show the seriousness of the attack, but also offers easy ways to counterattack. Goons were helpless against MoA killing them since they can't just blob and hellcamp their NPC station. They learned that the hard way. But Cloud Ring could be swept clean from the Clever Girls Coalition. I mean, no matter how perky they are, they have nothing to match the Imperium blob, especially with supers. It would be an easy way to create content for the line members while making a propaganda victory "look, we defeated this coalition coming against one of us in a few days". Unlike last time, the excessive TISHU propaganda in Reddit does make it look like the Imperium is facing a serious enemy, so defeating them would be morale-lifting and point-making. And let's be frank: it wouldn't be harder than last time. The moment The Mittani would announce the "cleanse the Ring" operation, their enemies would evac and probably won't even try to defend their Sov besides catching stragglers.

So why did the Imperium leadership abandoned SMA to its doom, and gave up content and victory in the process? Because the SMA leaders committed a mortal sin, worse than shouting "all reps on Cain!" They started deadmonkeygaming.com. This is a site like TMC, therefore a competitor for the real purpose of the Imperium leaders: to monetize their members. A line SMA is most likely going to the stream/news/whatever of DMG than TMC, therefore he is a lost eyeball, so is worthless for the Imperium. So they are allowed to suffer and die alone, with the hope that some of them jumps ship to Karmafleet.

Plus DmG is going to PlanetSide 2 on the New Conglomerate side of the game, while TMC is trying to get people to join the Vanu Sovereignty on the same server. So there will be some monkey/goon hunting going on there.

It seems like they are building an international gaming community, rather than a news site, and they're trying to branch out the same way the Goons do with SA. This might be the early sign that SMA intends to gradually turn its focus away from EVE and onto other activities.

In unrelated news, last night a number of low sec entities banded together to defend a timer, (believe it was a tower) the fleet I was in numbered 200 and so when heard goons had formed a 60 man Mach fleet it was obvious they would sit it out. Consequently we went on to re-enforce two Goonswarm towers in null while local swelled to 400.

Source for your claim that this is what happened?

Also, perhaps you should fund TISHU instead of MoA?

Could also be that no one wants to form up to bail winnet out of the hole he dug his group into. It's more amusing to sit back, drink a few and see how much deeper it will get. Watching SMA Drama play out is amazingly more fun then forming up to stop it.

@Zax: TISHU works for much more and their results are much lower. They target SMA, which is the weakest link in the Emporium, while MoA primarily targets GSF, the strongest.

maybe it is smart to attack weak points?

But it's not a "point" in the Emporium. If SMA would disband today, the useful corps would be invited to another Emporium alliances and Fade recaptured under its flag.

While removing bad Imperium alliances like SMA would be a good thing (actually it's one of my peace terms), alone it wouldn't change the Imperium.

So what makes SMA a bad Alliance? or for that matter any of the Alliances? Please explain.

Yes they would be invited to other alliances. but still they would loose some. Also some high leadership or FC they might loose. so ofc it would affect them as a whole.
noone said, that alone the removal of one alliance would change a lot. But it is smarter to attack weaker points. then punshing on the strongest with rather no impact.
