Where did all the PBLRDs go?

There are three large renter empires: PBLRD of CFC, Northern Associates. of N3 and Brothers of Tangra of PL. There is a minor renter within CFC: Initiative Associates. I've already done a comparison based on land and member sizes and PvP losses. This time I collected data reflecting customer satisfaction. Who is the most unsatisfied customer? The one who quits. DOTLAN has a list for former corporations of alliances and each renter corp must join the renter alliance. So I added the member count of the corps that left the renter alliances in the April 15 - July 15 period. I also looked up which alliance they are in currently:
  • They can be in the same renter alliance they left. These cases are considered administrative issues. They didn't leave after all.
  • They can be in a non-renter alliance. This case they just used renting as a probation time, didn't mean to stay renters. Their departure is probably not the fault of the landlord.
  • They can be in no alliance. This case the conditions of renting made them quit, give up and go back to Empire space. The landlord is probably at fault.
  • They can be in another renter empire. The landlord failed hard.
Below you can see the absolute numbers of leavers and their ratio compared to the sizes of these alliances in the middle of the examined period, June 1:
Ouch! PBLRD lost 45% of its members in 3 months, while NA lost 12% and BoT lost 18%. Of course it doesn't mean losing 45% of its size, as new members arrived, but still, it's a huge rotation rate. Also, for the other two renter empires, switching landlords are the least likely reasons of leaving. For PBLRD, it's the largest.

We can say without doubt that the experience of renting from Goons hasn't improved much since the days when it was just a scam they did for pocket change and giggles.

The difference in renter counts seems likely to be correlated with rental payments. If so, that would explain Mittens desire to get rid of super caps (he's being out funded and likely out built by N3).

your analysis is wrong on the face of it, because of this assertion:

Who is the most unsatisfied customer? The one who quits.

Your metric is based on people leaving the renter alliance - this cannot be attributed to a lack of satisfaction alone. There are many reasons they might leave:
* They got a better price elsewhere. This does not mean they were unsatisfied. I'm satisfied with my current telephone provider but there is significant financial motivation for me to move elsewhere. This is competition, not satisfaction
* They got kicked out. The CFC is brutal in regulating its laws and treaties.
* They fail cascaded. Renter corps are typically the lowest of the low. They have delusions of greatness and are full of petty politicking.
* They were truly dissatisfied.

Yes, some would have been dissatisfied. But you ignore all other possibilities because they do not fit your narrative. Either you are terrible at propaganda or terrible at statistical analysis. Take your pick.

You also keep ignoring that both N3 and PL forbid carebearing by their line members, thus forcing most of them to have alts to gain ISK.
And it's logical to assume a lot of those alts would be in renter corp's of their own renter alliance.
These members are therefore not likely to move.

The CFC has no such policy, so has less alt renters.

Also, PBLRD is far younger than either of the other renter alliances. Have you compared the stats of renter flux of the alliances when they were equally new?

The other possibilities are in the other renter alliances too (except kicking). So if those would be the largest reason of leaving, the other alliances would have the same statistics.

Goon rental is also pretty new and much smaller than the others. It's no surprise that a higher percentage occurs with a smaller total number.

Most people in this game don't have a problem with goons, so renting from them is the same as renting from everyone else. I can't say I hate goons more than I hate NC or PL or any major null group, they are all the same.

Only if they had similar internal situations.
And the fact that kicking doesnt exist to that degree in the other renter alliances doesnt tally with your conclusion....unless we know that kicking is not the reason.

pblrd has been in hot zones for a while. renting in and near active warzones, like delve, is even harder to deal with thank regular renting. this would have less to do with the 'experience' and more to do with where game politics have been pushing fights.

Interesting analysis. Hopefully mynnna is reading and will adjust rental rates down to compete.

My main quibble with your numbers is something mentioned by nony up there: "PBLRD is far younger than either of the other renter alliances. Have you compared the stats of renter flux of the alliances when they were equally new?"

I think this is a good point. I would expect a lot of people move to null, try it, and decide they do not like it. An older rental empire will have seen its share of these corps, but they are long gone. By now the older empires have a large "installed base" of renters, who are content where they are. Moving is always painful, and tends to get more painful the longer you are in one place. So they are likely to stay.

By contrast, new renters are not settled in, and may not enjoy life in nullsec. So they would be much more likely to leave.

What does arenter want?
Access to Nulsec, Ratting and POS rights, PI rights.
He needs to be able to pay the rent via his lifestyle in Nul, else he is more profitably off in Empira space. Furthermore, besides being able to pay the rent, he needs to be able to make ISK, ISK making is the ONLY measurement of how much more profitable life in Nul is. Anything else, like different game mechanics, etc. is absolutely no reason to move to Nul. It is only the money. If a renter doesn't make enough money, because his system is neut infested, becomes a warzone, his landlord bothers him, he will leave the next possible moment.

As a PL member, i'm sure is oppressed by not being allowed to rat, like JEFFRAIDER who was totally forbidden to jew in lowsec for hours after Kronos release, until he got his barghest BPC.

Just because most of us are making money by other, more efficient means doesnt means we dont rat.

You should look for evidences before believing whatever propaganda is thrown at you.

PL/N3 deliberately took Solar space as it has a very mature active renter community established.

We left drone lands and rented from CFC for a few months - worst decision we ever made. Would go back to drone lands in a heartbeat but we suddenly got caught up in a sov war in catch.

lol.
