Business post: Ascendancy

Yesterday's post got a "little" update, the wars from GSF perspective.

What kind of ship is flying on this picture:
Well, don't believe the warp speed, it's not an interceptor as they can't warp cloaked. If you are trying to match the cloaked silhouette with stealth frigs and bombers, you won't succeed.

This is a cruiser hull, my old transport Tengu, with gravitational capacitor subsystem and Ascendancy implant set. Watch out! Ascendancy Omega - while expensive - is as good as WS-615 (and worse than WS-618. With these, I can add "gets to Rens in 15 mins" to "500M EHP", "warps out in 3 seconds" and "cloaked". While it's still not uncatchable (nothing is), this is probably the hardest-to-gank thing in highsec that can leave a system.

Of course Ascendancy set helps with any kind of hauling, but avoid AFK-autopiloting. If your freighter gets ganked, don't throw another 1.5B in implants after it. Because Ascendancy set isn't cheap, even with low-grade Omega and as every business investment, must earn its price. For me, it saves 8 minutes a day, so in two weeks it saves more time than its opportunity cost, even if we ignore the value of increased safety (decreased time between scout spotting and gank team having to get ready).

If you are hauling expensive items, consider getting these implants.

Please remember Virenex, who did what every RvB member meant to do. He kept several Marmites busy to allow his masters to do stuff in highsec.

And what about Lemmings:
With the recent increase, Lemmings got to the top 200 of alliances in member size.

Ascendancy Omega is useless. WS-6XX implants give more than a HG Ascendancy Omega.

Thanks, fixed!

not seeing the point tbh, warp speed is nice, however as a travelling issue the warp speed is secondary to how fast a ship can align and get into warp. Right now in null if you are not in an interceptor chances are good you will be caught. Hmmm let me rephrase that in null where there is a lot of interceptor gangs roaming hostile territory. With the changes to interceptors the counter is of course max boosted locking tacklers stripped down for on purpose catching almost to fast stuff. Think of it like the highsec gate gank fleets all sig res and alpha. just swap out the alpha for tackle ability.

impressive EHP. what do you haul with it?

for small stuff (150m3) between highsec hubs I use:

[Ares, fast highsec hubing]
Inertia Stabilizers II
Inertia Stabilizers II
Expanded Cargohold II
Expanded Cargohold II

[empty med slot]
[empty med slot]
Small Capacitor Battery II

[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]
[empty high slot]

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I

implants: EM-705
optional a WS-613. it gets you from 11.5 au to 13 au. with the warp change this implant is worth it.
Also optional 1-5 halo implants to get sig radius down from 42.6m to 36.5m. I have it, not knowing back than that it has little effect. So sensor boosted tackle will get you in 0.8 seconds instead of 0.7. It isn't really worth it. But I yet have to encounter sensor boosted t2 suicide tackle in highsec on a npc corp pilot. so. yeah.
hold gate cloak 3 seconds to have the "overheat AB burn back and jump"-option open.

it's flipping fast, I love it.

Short but informative post Gevlon. I'll pass this on to a corpmate who like freighting stuff.

As far as Virenex, I could tell you how he raved about how awesome that fight was, giving us intricate details on how the fight went, how he got caught, etc etc. He had a great time. Apparently the Marmite pilots shared his enthusiasm about the fight.

But I know that is completely meaningless to you - in fact you might not even believe me. So, in consideration of your feelings, I will instead say this: http://purple.rvbeve.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=717878

That killmail speaks for itself does it not? ;)
