Prizes updated and recruiting

We are doing pretty fine. Halfus HC is down, HC Maloriak on 6%.

We are doing rated BGs regularly now, with enough wins to max out conquest points. The new guild challenges lured lot of guilds to rated BG, we met completely new and atrocious teams.

We are guarding our place on the guildox.com's EU guild achievement list. We are currently #68 with 1680 points. The new gains was challenged and Better Leveling Through Chemistry.

Let's see what more we could get:
  • "do X challenges" achievements: can't be hurried as the challenges are weekly capped.
  • The Daily Grind: 50% and it would be insane to pay for them. People will do TB dailies anyway for the resistance trinket. Soon 4.2 will bring brand new dailies.
  • Battleground and arena achievements: This is the new focus, and we are making progress, but we can't play as much we want, due to not having enough players for PvE and PvP at the same time. Are you not entertained? prize is still 5000/G person.
  • Glaives: 20000G offered for anyone who gets them on his own. While we have a contract with someone with half glaive, RNG is nasty and this week the Shadowmourne will be completed and our contractor leaves the guild. If you have Glaives and want the gold, join us (assuming you are on our server)
  • We are legendary: meta for the above ones for 25 points.
  • Heroic raid achievements: Since they will keep giving valor points (like normals in Firelands, I guess they will be done soon).
  • Dinner Party: on 86% but I won't speed it, it will be completed on its own.
  • Master Crafter: 80% but crafting epics just to DE would be simply insane.
  • We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat: 73%, since I figured out that fishing is actually profitable, people are doing it.
We are looking for both raiders and PvP-ers, to increase these activities. Currently we can do either but not both as we don't have enough people to have 10 on a hard mode, 10 on farm, other 10 in RBG. So if you got enough of "we'll start raiding/rBG soon" guilds, join us, as we are already doing them, just with not enough intensity. Of course keeping the rules is a must.

Pointless QQ: We pushed Maloriak HM into P2 before second green phase. We had 4 DD as we ran with 3 tanks to separate the adds. The expansion is that easy for DD: with 20% less than regularly used, you can overdamage a hard mode.

Patch 4.1 gave a boost to several classes their AOE. Their is a huge difference attempting the fight pre and post 4.1. The whole difficulty of the fight was/is managing the adds properly. If you run 2 warlocks a hunter and a shadowpriest, then yeah there is little challenge. If you run with an enhancement & elemental shaman, a warrior and a rogue for example, then then dealing with the adds will be significantly harder.

That aside, phases in an encounter are not designed by default to have a dps requirement. Quite a couple of fights will require you to handle the different phases properly rather over just burning through them.

I have to agree about the QQ, I sometimes wonder why they bother putting in an enrage timer at all.

The "stop all damage, no more autoattacks even, for 3 minutes until green phase" was boring.

The enrage must be in place for Maloriak just to force people to dispel :P

I agree with zenga also, it really depends on the class/spec for dealing with the adds on heroic mode. A while back, I read advice for feral dps to go boomkin for this fight, because a blue-geared balance druid would be more useful than a heroic-raid-geared cat druid. With cat Swipe actually being worth using with 4.1, it's not nearly as bad.

I am curious though, with 4 dps'ers, how many seconds after transition did the wipe occur, and to what?

25 Man Heroic Maloriak is nothing like that, the DPS reqs are fairly high unless you stack AoE classes (and people only use 2 tanks in 25 man).

I think this is a case of 10 man undertuning, but I could be wrong.

Having too much DPS? Yeah, we were in the same place. Just kill some adds before the green phase (interrupt the second add release to stop the buff from stacking to high) and you should be able to use 1 tank for the adds. The extra dps is nice for the sub 20% phase.

LOL

"(and people only use 2 tanks in 25 man)."

People use 2 tanks in 10 man most of the time, also. This is the first time I heard of anyone using 3 tanks for it.

Even if 10 is harder than 25 (that's the case for nearly all Cata raids on live), this fight is very easy on both raid sizes. I'm certain that The PuG can get it down soon.

Before they extended Maloriak's enrage timer it was very harsh. You still had to dps off before the last green phase, but then you needed really high dps to burn him down after that.
