Morons of the week

Ungeared update: We are lowest on warlocks, mages and DKs. You can still join the project. Other classes are also accepted, and the best of the classes will get spot.

Adam wrote about the project on his own blog.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Gordrek - Saurfang, US started the standard Winter Veil milking. I also love milk and eggs in the morning, how about you?

Require from the realm Mazrigos(EU) encountered someone who somehow figured out that buying ammo in stacks of 100 is not the best way and - like socials usually - tried to get back with whining:

This might win the "highest price for nothing" contest! Asol of Outland EU sold Autographed Piture of Foror & Tigule for 800g, it's a random item that can drop from corpses in AV. There's a achievement for looting it, and I suppose the buyer was stupid enough to miss the whole "loot" part. When I received this moron picture, I banged my head to the desk because I looted this item and vendored it instead of selling. I never figured someone can be so stupid. Overestimating customers = not making deals.

The vendor pets are evergreens(by Neevo):

Dulcet found someone who considered buying up all the Ice cold milk for 1G each and relisting them higher is a good idea. Ouch!

Homerman95 said he likes Christmas time. I can't figure out why? Is it the jingling bells? Or the corporate Santas on the street? Or maybe the morons buying eggs and spices for insane prices?

Matthew sold lot of stack 100 arrows for high prices. He got hate letter. That's just boring. However the guy kept his word and sent warning letters to the hunters around the realm, including Matthew's guildmate and relative. So on the top of wasting his gold, he now wasted his time. He shown Matt for sure who's the man!

Szas from Emerald dream (EU) did his part in milking the holidays:

Erdbärchen from EU-Eredar also did his part to make to make this holiday funny - for us:

An Autographed Piture of Foror & Tigule is worth a thousand lol's.

I tried to 100 stack size for the new ICC arrows and it works. The problem though is that I looked at the AH from a character with very few addons (including NOT having Auctionner) and the display of the stack size is clear as day and night, you clearly see 100 and clearly see 1000.

Is the display bug only on the blue-quality bullets and arrows or is it something that was never there?

I actually don't mind paying 5-20g for small eggs since I can't be bothered to go out and farm them, but paying for milk and spice? Yikes.

I am too lazy to fly around Azeroth and find some birds for little eggs, want to pay someone to make the journey.

But I am too social and afraid to end here being mocked with a goblinpicture. Up to how much gold do you think is safe to buy a small egg?

I did well on the small eggs and milk in the morning. By the next day they were down a lot in price unfortunately. But I made around 2000g or so for not doing much.

@Anonymous

There is no display bug. It is just morons not looking at the number.

HAHA. Relisting Ice Cold Milk... more stupid than buying it from the AH.

Now I understand why so many play melee classes rather than casters as their first char - theyre tired of waiting for their mana to get full since they clearly dont know you can buy water from vendors...

The 'bug' is if you're using auctioneer. You can see the difference in Gevlon's post from a couple of days ago.

Mammoth cutters DO have a display bug, the numbers run outside of the box.

There is no bug, only morons.

There is a clear difference in displaying 1000 or 100 arrows/bullets even if u use auctioneer.

The numbers display differently no matter what. Here is what I bet is happening- players do not look beyond the name of the item, assuming that everyone lists the full stack.

Easy way to test, try putting up a different amount on the AH, say 125 or 87 or something like that. See how many sell. I bet you will sell less than normal but you will still sell a lot of them.

When I saw the price of eggs in ah, I took ten minutes of farming west fall to make 200g. People with gold will buy anything because they are too lazy. I sold stacks of milk for 8g a stack of five. Got to love stupid people.

I've been selling snowballs for 1G. Makes me chuckle every time. The snowball vendor is right in front of the AH in Org. It would actually take someone less effort to buy at the 10c vendor price.

@Autographed Piture of Foror & Tigule

You can wrap it in wrapping paper, mail it, then open it from the mail and get the achievement.

I still dont understand the Eggs, that isnt being a moron for buying an egg @ say 5g when it saves me 10min of travel. As someone else said your paying the gold for the travel time.

And someone on my server was nice enough to sell Ice Cold Milk for 35s on the AH. mad life a hell of alot easier for the achievments

Gevlon said...

@Strutt: because the same eggs in the same AH cost 80% less a week ago. If you want to do achievements, be prepared.

I have a levelling alt that was beating up some birds and wildkin on Azuremyst and Bloodmyst. I sold the eggs they dropped for prices that started at 5g each right as Winter Veil started. Prices have steadily dropped since then, but he still got close to 100g from the M&S as a starting bankroll.

My main has been selling milk in the AH, and has made over 100g from it just by selling them for 1g 25s each. I figured a 62,500% markup was still a steal from the folks trying to sell them for 2g each. Sales are slowing and prices are dropping. Milk is down to around 50s each on my server, and I'm only selling about 15 a day, now, but it's still easy money.

I'll give the first one credit for being honest (he refers to running a cartel in his email title). He's still a moron, since he appears not to understand that he's trying to herd cats.
