Morons of the week

A must be post from my favorite fun thread. Read it! NOW! (If you are unfamiliar with the thread, read the "original post" at the bottom, maybe even click on the provided armory link and then read the mod's answer).

World PvP is serious business. Knockback spells are overpowered! Nerf shamans and druids! And always have enough gold for repairs! (by Edgar)

Crilde--Magtheridon (US) sent this trade chat with someone having a bit too big e-peen for his own good.

He also found this. I couldn't believe it's not photoshop. But here is the armory. Does anyone has any faith in human race left?

Helen keeps supplying her server with vendor-sold reagents and us with moron pictures:

one can only hope that it was done as a joke. I knew a holy paladin that collected random warlock pieces which he socketed and enchanted with things like expertise, ap and armor penetration. I believe he liked to link it to some warlock friends to annoy them.

Why? Not sure, especially seeing as I believe those links can be generated with addons

Haha, the Warrior made me laugh truly! Thanks for Armory link, his 71/0/0 spec and "Prot" spec with everything BUT last stand and vigilance (he skipped those 2) support the guess it's not a joke... And then those guys go cry "I specced prot and no one lets me tank! Waah elitist snobs!" Yeah, sure, with your spellpen gems and Icebane Belt.

Mhyko said...

Hey now, Icebane belt's got decent stamina for a starter.

Also, anyone remember location for the pic of warlock with +2% threat on gloves and subtlety (-2% threat) on cloak? 60 lock in ~t2 if I recall correctly.

Popalicious said...

It is not unusual for pvp DK to gem for spell pen, but this warrior is obviously not part of that camp...

After reading that post from Elitists Jerks you linked... I asked myself "is there any reason a tree druid with standard talents can't spam Nourish?" That person seems to believe you can't spam Nourish when you have HoTs talented so the solution is... respec and remove heal over time improvements! That will make you better!

There's no single talent in that "special spec" improving Nourish beyond the typical resto spec, since people gave maths that improved tree of life is worth the same or more than lunar guidance...

Actually I love those "special snowflakes specs" threads, Death Knight forum is the best place for this, every week someone will come up with "my oh so different spec, rate it!"

On the serious side, interesting is when one poster wrote "Your builds stated base is pretty much standard. You can armory almost each resto druid and he'll have it." And he is right, almost every resto druid has Nature's Bounty, Nature's Grace and Living Seed. But what's the hype with Nature's Grace? It's good for dps, but why for healing, it depends on crit and gives some haste. Resto druids spec this yet I heard complaints about egg trinket "we don't need any haste procs, shoo". They don't have any spell that scales well with haste, nourish is not holy light. Most items resto druids use have haste not crit, and remember Gift of the Earth Mother. If resto druids had tons of crit, little haste and needed haste badly, talent would be great. Situation is completely opposite.

That warrior has a Glyph of shockwave, wait for it, on his Arms spec. Further proof there is money in inscription?

Regarding the helm with spell pen: It may be that the person playing the toon is colorblind and meant to socket a solid gem instead. I am colorblind and have a really hard time telling the difference between lots of cut gems. I rely on the tool tip.

He could be broke and threw in a cheap blue to activate the meta or get the socket bonus (spell pen on my server are just over vendor price ~3g whereas the solids are 12-25g). It's a long shot though and not very smart either way :P

I can't explain the AP/stun meta though :/

Really decent of you to humiliate someone to get a few laughs.

Tonus said...

They humiliate themselves.

For example, the person banned from the EJ forum was mostly looking to create an efficient healing spec that didn't use tree form because he doesn't like how the tree form looks. He goes to a forum for hard core raiders and is wondering how to spec for good looks.

That's like those people who videotape their six-year-old clubbing them in the testicles with a hammer and post it on Youtube. Don't put your stupidity on display and you won't be made fun of.

Yaggle said...

So, what, you're saying that paladins don't need armor penetration? I'll have to take your word on that. I believe in karma just like santa claus and flying saucers....that is awesome LOL.

Yaggle said...

Good lord, that's a warrior with spell penetration? I gave him too much credit I guess. Although maybe I belong on "Morons of the week" for pre-ordering(and pre-paying for) Starcraft II TWO years ago. My receipt is so faded that I can't even read it any more. I am not sure why a warlock would want +threat, maybe there is some kooky reason I cannot ascertain. It sounds sadder than killing baby seals, though.

The morons of this week are particulary stupid and retarded!

Tank Warrior with Spell pen gems?
(among other things, check his armory guys)

The EJ response was totally hillarious!
Specially the Hammer-Dick Tank and the Keyboard-drooling dps'ers.

i know on my server there is a warrior gemming for spirit

I was going to say "it's not all that unusual for a DK to socket spell pen, it's very useful for PvP!"

Then I noticed it was a warrior, and burst into tears.

You must be new here.

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who can see two morons in the 'knockback' screenshot?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I am new here and it took me all of 3 seconds to figure out greedy goblin should be sainted for his charity work.

I'm sure the guy with the titansteel helm asked to be humiliated just as wives ask to be beaten. After all, logging into a game and having a screenshot of your gear taken and publicly posted (permission?) is exactly the same as sending a crotch crush video to a national television station or posting a question on a public forum.

Gnome of Zurich said...

I gotta agree with anon on the warrior. Most of the morons posted here ask for it in some way by begging, demanding, epeening or otherwie displaying a boundless sense of entitlement or dick-swinging.

Some random warrior you inspected obviously doesn't know how to play, but doesn't really deserve our public ridicule just for being stupid, unless he is trying to raid with that helm on or telling other people about their gear or whatever. IMO.

The morons posted here are usually morons that are evangelical about or proud of their moronitude.

Regarding the ethics of humiliating the random warrior: humiliation requires knowledge of both parties, the warrior does not feel humiliated because he has no idea he is being made fun of.

If anything, you should be asking yourselves if its okay for private groups to make fun of people they find stupid, to which I think the answer is obvious.

"Am I the only one who can see two morons in the 'knockback' screenshot?"

I think the definition of being a moron and a jackass is different in this blog. The one making an alt to go cry about his loss of money is the moron, and the one using the knockback is a jackass.

"Regarding the ethics of humiliating the random warrior: humiliation requires knowledge of both parties, the warrior does not feel humiliated because he has no idea he is being made fun of.
"

So true, although most people are morons and are not aware of this - just look at the majority of comments on this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysTmUTQ5wZE

Much as the response to Gin on EJ was quite amusing - did any of you bother to check Gin on Pugchecker?

6 full clears on ToC 10, 3 full clears on ToC 25. 3/5 on ToC 10/25 Hardmodes.

OS-10 three drakes up, Ony 10/25 done. Koralon 10/25 cleared 7 times each.

Maybe their spec is crap - but its good enough to get them into a group who can down all those bosses down.

How many of you can honestly stand up and give a similar resume?

hmm, no post today? i wonder who did a certain social thing last night...

'Regarding the ethics of humiliating the random warrior: humiliation requires knowledge of both parties, the warrior does not feel humiliated because he has no idea he is being made fun of.'

What he doesn't know can't hurt him?

'If anything, you should be asking yourselves if its okay for private groups to make fun of people they find stupid, to which I think the answer is obvious.'

I'm sure we've all made fun of someone privately but a blog, albeit a niche one, is not exactly private.

My favorite part of Gin's Armory page was noticing her Glyph of Growling on her Balance Spec.
