Since last week the gold in my backpack increased by 23.5K. 18.5 came from selling my old inventory, I'm almost done.
So the net income is 5K + 5K in the guildbank. Much better than last week.
The income from the glyphs was 13K, with 3K ink cost. 10K/week as I like it. Besides abusing the most messed up tradeskill, I sold some mongoose enchants. There are around 4.5K glyphs in the AH, 1.5K are mine.
That's all. I'm playing surprisingly low. I craft my glyphs, log in 20 mins before the raid, log out. The rest of the time I play with my girlfriend on other projects and other games.
BTW she has 3.6K without help, high level toon. She only does AH arbitrage, with about 1 hour/week, 1.5K/hour. You can do that too! Good luck making money!
PS: I noticed that I don't post direct tips lately. However until no one bothers to take my glyph business, most probably no one will bother to take yours.

Someone has took the glyph business. I'm on your old server and I dabbled a bit in the glyph market. I've began to start ramping up my glyph production but a few serious undercutters have entered the market. The undercut by huge margins, some glyphs that were above 20 or even 30 they list for around 4 gold. I've tried to go with it as I think they are just trying to take the market over but it looks like they are relisting multiple times a day and I cant camp the AH to stay ahead. Think i'm gonna give up on glyphs now and find another area.
if they are relisting several times a day are they really following Gevlon's procedure?
I think it is a trend for people to be playing less. I don't log in my main much except to raid. (I don't know about you but I am starting to question whether I'm getting my subscription worth.)
Have started an alt on another server and made about 1k from selling low level glyphs though.
I have a question about AH arbitrage: what items or classes of items are people focusing on?
On my server, I have had reasonably good success with cloth, dream shards, arctic fur, and occasionally meats and ores. I snap up any cheap auctions every morning and relist them either immediately or on Saturday for the weekend buying frenzy.
Oh, also, I briefly tried getting into the low-level enchanting mats market, but I found my auctions got returned too often and decided it wasn't worth the time.
On Conseil des Ombres, the glyph business is now very badly hurt by guys undercunting any glyph around 3 or 4 gold each ... and 2 of them setting price for any other "high pricy" glyph to a max of 10 gold.
I used to make 3 to 4K a week on this business and I'm down to 1.5K :(
I'm making around 5k gold a week on Stormscale, I was worried to lose market when you came to our server, but so far your damage is minimal, as long as you're doing well in the glyph business, I'm doing well in my business.
If you're wondering about the minimal damage you did, it's from the northern spices, you flooded the market and dropped the prices from 2.5g - 3g to 1.9g, so till then my northern spices stay in bank.(Although I haven't checked in a while to be honest, maybe you sold out?)
I'm fascinated by where you get the ingredients fro your glyph business, Gevlon. As far as I can see, nobody is selling significant quantities of herbs or inks on the AH on my server, which leaves grinding for herbs as the only option.
How do you do it?
Funny thing about herbs, you can trade for just about all the inks so.... If you concentrate on the northrend herbs you can concentrate on Adder's Tongue. There are always decent deals on stacks of those.
@Yaseen titi: my bank is almost empty. Some pets waiting to be sold and ... several stacks of northren spices. That was a bad investment. Not too bad though, I bought them for 2-2.5.
@Swen: the AH is flooded here with herbs.
First, congrats for finishing your transfer. Impressive task you have accomplished. You added ad least 200k to the allowed 20K via good management.
Thumbs up.
I am struggling with inks and herbs also. Selling the glyphs runs pretty well. But oranizing the inks to keep me running is kind of a nightmare.
If I look into the tooltip of the reagenz I see all herbs that can be milled for that ink.
But all of them are solled out or priced far to high. Premade inks are not sold either.
So I am quite sure that I am facing competition. But still can make some decent profit.
Is there an addon available to display whether your auctions are the current low buyout price? The undercutting on my server is getting maddening and it's time consuming to constantly check items.
In order to help me figuring out my profit on glyphs and what I should buy to use as raw materials I made a Google Docs spreadsheet. A few days ago I cleaned it up and made it public and it might be handy for other goblins out there: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rWvO51JK45-VUaa4AvN58KQ
To adapt it to your own server's price points, just save a copy of the document to your own Google Docs.
@pallynoob, just stick to IotS and use the ink vendor in Dalaran to convert to the ink you need for the day. Saves a lot of space and headaches.
Hi Gevlon,
There is one thing I can't work out how you do, and thats collecting your mail.
I use a mod called betterInbox, but when I go to the mailbox I can still only see 50 items, and need to check back every 5 minutes for more. Listing hundreds of Glyphs like you do is beyond me, because it takes so long to get them back out of the mailbox if they don't sell...
What do you use to manage your mail?
@ Fawr, try Postal, it collects all the junk in your inbox at once. You still need to take 60 second breaks between batches tho.
I dont know how you guys are making money with glyphs. I list about 700 glyphs every 3 days at about 5% undercut and i rarely sell any. I'm on a high pop server, beginning to doubt this whole idea of selling mass amounts of glyphs.
5% undercut might be too little. I post with up to 55% undercutting just to get my glyphs moving.
He undercuts by "up to 55%"? This is typical of the ignorant selling that saturates and destroys a market. No matter how much you undercut, you will be undercut again. The majority of buyers don't care how much you undercut by, as they just want the item and are usually in a hurry. The key is to post often. If you cannot do that, then either find sparsely posted glyphs or get into another market. Selling a glyph for 2g is a waste of your game time.
