They do have a chance to drop from LFR and other places, but it is a very low chance. You can't just run your first LFR and expect to get your legendary. A few players will get lucky and have a legendary in one slot, but that isn't enough to cancel out all other gear. As vinciblegold said, they aren't that much better than gear already available. When the next patch comes, the current legendaries will become obsolete just like all the other gear.

There probably ARE reasons Gevlon would hate Legion, but I don't think legendaries are significant enough to be on that list.Samushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02310391280860277082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-36004048476454545562016-10-01T16:47:26.312+02:002016-10-01T16:47:26.312+02:00I have an additional tip which you may have alread...I have an additional tip which you may have already begun implementing: queue dodging. Leaving a game in the champ selection stage will only cost you some league points, but your actual MMR (the thing that really determines the quality of players in your game) will not be affected. The leagues/divisions are just fluff, and even if your goal is to reach a certain league, queue dodging unwanted teammates* will help you in the long run especially if you are in a coinflip elo but lack the mechanical skill to carry the game regardless of how much your team feeds. In case you care about promos, keep in mind that dodging a promotion game will count as a loss for that purpose (still won't affect your MMR).

*people that are toxic/obviously on tilt/didn't get their desired role/play a demanding champ they have very little experience (or a very low winrate) with. The last part you can find online on any number of sites that track this data. Queue dodging games with risky people gives you the advantage of not playing with such people on your team whenever you can detect them in the select phase, so in games you actually play they will be more likely to show up on the enemy team than your own. The tradeoff is slower advancement through leagues at the start, which doesn't actually influence the matchmaking in a significant way.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03142627211715673207noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-22181793385813538792016-09-30T05:45:32.197+02:002016-09-30T05:45:32.197+02:00@Gevlon
I view the "legendary in every slot&q...@Gevlon
I view the "legendary in every slot" thing as an attempt of Blizzard to give every player a unique competitive advantage to work with, thus breaking out of the homogenisation of gearing process that we saw happen previously.
If everyone can collect a full legendary set, that's one thing, but i don't think they went there. If you can only have one or two and you can't predict which, where and when you'll get (but you most certainly will), that's a completely different thing.

This is certainly an experiment. It is also very likely to fail. But if it suceeds ...maximhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12576542229498004147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-86166013874098162562016-09-29T23:36:21.829+02:002016-09-29T23:36:21.829+02:00A lot of strategies are very ELO dependent as many...A lot of strategies are very ELO dependent as many commenters have already said.

Split-pushing: I have heard from many people that Split Pushing is very effective in Gold/Platinum, but I think that teams might respond badly in Bronze/Silver to Split Pushing. The socials might "rush to save you" resulting in a team-wipe, and the scum will often become "scared" when three enemy champions disappear from the map and will refuse to push a tower/do dragon/do anything and will just very passively CS in lane as they watch the three enemy champions chase you for two minutes. Maybe they comment on how wrong you were to split-push as they refuse to push their minion wave. I don't know the ELO where it starts working well though.

I liked BingeGamingdotTV youtube video "How to Escape your Elo! (Bronze through Diamond)" descriptions of the different ELOs. He has run multiple champions from Bronze to Diamond on his stream and should know what he is talking about. His written descriptions of each ELO's characteristics were very interesting.

You said you want to play tanks, so here are two champions that are tanks, low apm, and have no skill shots.

Singed: Unique play style. His ultimate is 25 seconds long and provides a huge boost to tankiness. Once he has Rylai's Crystal Scepter his great CC becomes just absurd. His CC is more than enough to draw the aggro of the enemy team. Singed Top at lower ELOs can just push the wave and force the enemy champion to attempt to CS under tower. Singed does have some problems laning as Top in very high elos though.

Better Singed Item Choices-"We can rebuild him; we have the technology."

Most Singed builds on mobafire and lolking have Rod of Ages as first major item. This end-game inventory-full mana solution at the start of the game is a poor choice. The "Welcome to Singed City" mobafire guide writer says double Doran's Ring and careful mana management should be enough. This let's you get Rylai's Crystal Scepter as Singed's first major item which gives you the two things a Singed tank needs most of all. Health to scale with Singed's ultimate, and a 20% perma-slow to get the other team's attention.

The guide's second item is either Randuin's or Sunfire Cloak. Sunfire Cloak should give Singed the ability to hold a tower by himself pretty easily in the event of a lost teamfight. For Jungler Singed Cinderhulk does pretty much the same thing. Unfortunately, holding towers probably won't be important till you get to a higher ELO. Randuin's provides a lot of health and yet another strong CC ability. Do you have the enemy team's full attention? Yes you do.

Wukong: Average jungler with excellent initiate and escape abilities. Lack of CC hurts ganks, but can do high damage against out of position players. If he can come from behind an over-extended player Wukong can use invisibility to get in position and Nimbus Strike to catch the enemy when the enemy flashes. Wukong's ultimate makes him a very strong team fighter. He can Nimbus Strike in and then Ultimate easily. The important part is knowing WHEN to do this... or to do it at all. Some ganks you may not want to use his ultimate, saving it for when it is really needed.

A third champion just because of sheer carrying power:

Annie:Not a tank. Requires a bit of clicking. However, Annie is a very strong Mid AP Champion that can gank Bottom Lane for double kills and those ganks can help decide the game. Would require learning another play style and a considerable investment of time. Still, a classic "carry out of low ELO" Champion.Game_Analyzer_MK3noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-62483285681611210762016-09-29T20:15:41.210+02:002016-09-29T20:15:41.210+02:00@Vinciblegod: having a flawed reward structure kil...@Vinciblegod: having a flawed reward structure kills competition. You can't tell how big part of the players are interested in competing just for competing sake without recognition. While Hanura and me don't care about being unique snowflake, most people do. And they won't care about raiding, making it a niche like pet battles.Gevlonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07072766785893313616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-60942151034587035932016-09-29T19:33:16.165+02:002016-09-29T19:33:16.165+02:00@vinciblegod
Have you actually read through the s...@vinciblegod

Have you actually read through the secondary effects? Sure, some are better than others but most are quite powerful. Yes you can get 890 ilvl gear ... by raiding mythic, which almost no guilds are capable of at the moment. Oh wait I can't even do that, because blizzard thinks mythic is too hard for PUGs. But hey, you can just be on /follow in LFR and drop legendaries.

I don't hate WoW, and I knew what I was up for when I resubbed. Nonetheless these things make WoW unviable as a competitive game outside of dedicated progress raiding. And thus, unfit for players who are looking for a competitive environment like gevlon and myself.Hanura H'araschnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-23376095250602584292016-09-29T19:17:09.344+02:002016-09-29T19:17:09.344+02:00Hi Gevlon,

Percentage-wise, my real salary (base+overtime) hasn't gone up significantly since 2009, while inflation eats away steadily. I think that eastern Europe underestimates how well Americans were doing in 2000.

"I lost hundreds of friends on 9/11": nicety. In fact, acquaintance is often used as an insult hiding as a back-handed compliment. It's highly likely that Trump was acquainted with hundreds of people in the WTC. I'm less than one degree from hundreds of people who died there (between professional acquaintances and an uncle who worked for the Port Authority) and I don't even live and work in NYC like Trump.Phelpshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06270536870200063563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1461700565722278823.post-5725549645531064572016-09-29T16:48:33.700+02:002016-09-29T16:48:33.700+02:00@Hanura
