I'm back

As you can see, I've found a guild, so businessmen of Stormscale-EU beware!

The guild has Keepers and Antechamber clear, with some achievements, and of course Sarth+3 before 3.1. They raid 3 times a week, and I'll get 1 raidspot/week, that's just perfect to my time schedule.

I already started a DK bankalt to start scanning the AH. Soon my main will follow him.

I'd like to thank to all the commenters, mail-senders and "simple" visitors who came to my blog. Your interest in my work makes it moving.

Special thanks to Larísa, Zekta, Tobold, Markco and the WowEnomics team who covered the current changes in my blog.

I'll try to get back to the "one post at every day 7:00", but some changes may happen until my transfer is completed. A server transfer is always crazy, even if you don't have to change 200K G into items in a week.

wow, 200k worth of items. Thats insane! I wish you luck in your new guild and I continue to look forward to your future posts

I'm glad it is working out for you, and look forward to hearing about it. It'd be interesting to hear how you converted your cash to items for the transfer, and what tradeoffs are forced on you.

Obviously, it'd be best to write about it *after* the transfer, so as to not influence the market as you're stocking up... Are you buying with an eye more to your future server market, or to what's available to buy?

I'm so glad you found a home! As much as I would have loved the cash for my guild, I know that we are not a good fit for you, for many reasons other than the obvious (i.e we're on a US server)

I'm also happy that you found a new home and a new 'project' to work on. I enjoy your blog very much and I was saddened to think that you had run out of interesting things to do in game, and of course to blog about.

Blog on! I can't wait!

Yay! Welcome back! I hoped you'd find a new home. I just regretted that you're on the horde side... Looking forward to keep discussing with you! Cheers!

Sure is nice to be carried through content... slacker

How does funding a guild with 200k gold for one raid spot a week make him a slacker?

Good that you're back. Much fun in your guild, because that's all what's important in a game.

Long live the Goblin!

Re: Anonymous #1

He already listed that he'll be stepping out on progression nights to allow the top player to make the kill. In fact, Gevlon outlined his business offer in his previous blog. Nothing says anything about being "carried". More like "financing".

Best of luck, look forward to more stories and posts.

Hooray for continued Goblin posts!
Frankly, I was quite nervous. May the ideals of capitalism live onwards!

As with many others, I find this an amazing venture. What a very sensible guild you have found!

How this works in practice, and what principles might be arguable for real life, will be a very interesting project in its own right.

I was just thinking, "How will we make it through the Holidays without Gevlon?" I already bought up all the Mageroyal to resell at outrageous prices (for chocolate cake) and am experimenting with the vendor sweets to see if people will buy them from the AH rather than porting to Dal. It's great to have you back.

Should be some good reading ahead. I hope you find a more competitive marketplace on your new home as that would spice up your weekly reports.

Spending 200,000 gold on your old realm should make things interesting there during your buying spree. Certain items are about to become scarce and overpriced as you gobble up the server inventory to xfer with.

Good luck!

Shit just got real.Looking forward to more.

Hey, i've always enjoyed reading your blog simply because its so harsh in a way that is so much truth into it. I wish you well on your new server

Welcome back, and good luck!

I gotta hand it to you, that proposal is one hell of an idea!

I'll admit, I'm actually more interested now to see how this develops for you once you start raiding, and look forward to hearing about what you have to say!

Its good to have you back Gevlon!
It'll be very interesting to see how this pans out, maybe you'll introduce a whole new way of raiding!

As for money transfer across the servers, I was wondering if you had read an elitist jerks thread a while back, where there was a few posts about a player intending to transfer servers

The exact post is

http://elitistjerks.com/f15/t38127-icy_art_making_gold/p32/#post1151650

But you might also find interesting titbits reading the rest of the thread.

Cheers, and all the best in your new guild!

Phew..
I would be very sad of this log stopped !
I do think you have to accept that everything is a grind.
If not to reach the cap, then to do so to see the content.
In my opinion, you should change your view to enjoy the travel towards the goal instead of the goal itself.
I realize this means that hunting achievements is just as worthwhile as hunting gold....hmm

I've sent you an email few days ago asking you about some netherweave bags undercutter, you didn't answer but it's ok, now I'll get to see how you'll deal him in real time, welcome sc-eu :)

Gevlon said...

@Everyone: thanks for the welcoming

@sherry: thanks for the link, already gave me some hints

@Yaseen titi: I'm sorry but I'm flooded with mail and now I focused on my own transfer. I try to catch up with mail.

This is great news. This is probably my favorite wow blog (even though I don't always agree). I think this "Goblin Guild CFO" idea is awesome and I can't wait to read all about how you and your new guild gain from it.

Probably a late welcome back comment.
I was busy all day long, I didn't have enough time commenting, but I notice it at the morning, with a smile in my face.

I wasn't expecting a guild with have that much open-minded people, but once again I was wrong.
Grats to Gelvon, and Grats to your new guild, I believe they made a great decision.

I am really happy that you'll continue :)

This is awesome, I'm very excited to hear about news going forward. PS General Vexaz isn't too bad, just spreading out and not trying to get greedy with casters on the ground buff makes the fight easy.

What I'm really curious to see, is what happens to his current servers economy when he leaves. Are there any readers on his server who are silently preparing to fill the voids he is leaving? Seems like easy gold, almost worth transferring and alt to take advantage of.

What's going on in this screenshot? Prince Kesseleth from Utgarde with a quest?

(Assuming it's not just some photoshopped oddity)

Fixee said...

That post on EJ forums was authored by me, btw. I've now xferred and liquidated. It worked out well.

Anonymous said...

The quest is from the DK starter area. I'd assume the goblin took this from his DK he mentioned starting there to scout things out.
